JK = (2x + 42) and KL = (30 - 2x). If K is between J and L. find JL

If K is between J and L. Then:

JK +KL = JL

Since:

JK = (2x + 42) and KL = (30 - 2x)

Replacing and adding:

(2x + 42) + (30 - 2x)

2x+42+30-2x

2x-2x+24+30

54

JL =54
