Solution:

We want to know:

$S=(2x^2+5x-3)+(-3x^2-10+x^2\text{)}$

we put together similar terms:

$S=(2x^2-3x^2+x^2)\text{ + (5x) + (-3-10)}$

Now, we add the coefficients of each variable:

$S=(0x^2)\text{ + (5x) + (-13)}$

that is equivalent to say

$S=\text{5x -13}$

Then the sum is

$S=\text{5x -13}$
