Solution:

(a) Given that the tiles that Bruce used were each 1/4 of a square foot in area.

Where x is the number of tiles and y is the area covered. Thus;


y=(1)/(4)x

(b) Given the table;

Since 6 tiles are used to cover 1 square feet. Thus;


y=(1)/(6)x

(c)

(d) From the graph above, Bruce covers more area per tile because 1/4 is larger than 1/6.
