Slope intercept equation:

y= mx+b

Where:

m= slope

b= y.intercept

Apply the slope formula:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Use the coordinates given:

(x1,y1) = (3,19)

(x2,y2) = (5,23)

Replace

m=(23-19)/(5-3)=(4)/(2)=2

So far we have:

y=2x+b

Replace (x,y) by a coordinate point (5,23) and solve for b:

23 = 2(5)+b

23= 10+b

23-10= b

13 = b

Final equation:

y= 2x+13
