on a hike parker notice the temperature at base of the mountain was 67 degrees Fahrenheit. at a point on the mountain that was 2000 feet above the base the temperature was 53 degrees Fahrenheit. what is the average rate of change in temperature (in Fahrenheit/ft)?

Rate of change = 2000/ (67 - 53)= 2000/14 = 142.86 fts/Fahren

Then now inverted result is

rate of change= decrease of 0.007 degrees F per feet

Answer is -0.007 degrees F/feet
