Claim: Most adults would erase all of their personal information online if they could.

The test statistic TS can be calculated using the equation:


TS=\frac{\mu-\mu_0}{\sigma/\sqrt[]{n}}

Where μ is the sample mean, μ₀ is the null hypothesis mean, σ is the standard deviation and n is the sample size. From the problem, we identify:


\begin{gathered} \mu=0.58 \\ \mu=0.50 \\ \sigma=0.5 \\ n=674 \end{gathered}

Using those values on the equation above:


TS=\frac{0.58-0.50}{0.5/\sqrt[]{674}}=4.15
