Two lines are parallel if they have the same slope, addittionaly, in an equation with the form:

y = mx + b

m is the slope.

So, the slope of the line y = 3x - 5 is 3

Therefore the slope of the line that passes through the point (6,1) and is parrallel to the line y = 3x - 5 is also 3.

Answer: 3
