Given

A (4.0) on a 5-credit MATH 128

B+ (3.3) on a 4-credit ENG 152

C- (1.7) on a 3-credit COM 210

A- (3.7) on a 5-credit HIST 151

His GPA is calculated by using the weighted mean of his grades.

\begin{gathered} W=(\sum w_ix_i)/(\sum w_i)=\frac{\text{(number of credit)(grade in numerical form)}}{\text{total number of credits}} \\ \text{where} \\ w_i\text{ is the weight} \\ x_i\text{ is the grade} \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} W=(\sum w_ix_i)/(\sum w_i) \\ W=((5\cdot4)+(4\cdot3.3)+(3\cdot1.7)+(5\cdot3.7))/(5+4+3+5) \\ W=(20+13.2+5.1+18.5)/(17) \\ W=(56.8)/(17) \\ W=3.34 \end{gathered}

Therefore, his GPA for the semester 3.34.
