In the class the tables are arranged in three groups.

Group red has 6 seats.

Group blue has 7 seats.

Group yellow has 8 seats.

The total number of seats is 6+7+8= 21

To calculate the probability that the first student that enters the class gets randomly assigned to a seat in the blue group, you have to divide the number of seats on the blue group by the total number of seats in the class:

\begin{gathered} P(blue)=\frac{nÂș\text{blue seats}}{\text{total seats}} \\ P(blue)=(8)/(21) \\ P(blue)\approx0.38 \end{gathered}

The probability of the student being assigned to a seat on the blue group is 0.38, you can express it as a percentage: 38%
