When you rotate the regular pentagon 72 degree about its centre , it will look exactly the same, because it has rotation symmetry. At 72 degree, the rotation angles will map itself

\begin{gathered} \text{The number of sides of pentagon is 5. 360 degree is the sum of angles.} \\ Thus,\text{ the angle of rotation is given by} \\ (360)/(5)=72 \end{gathered}

72 degree is the rotation angle which maps regular pentagon onto itself.
