slope = m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

Data

x1 = -3 y1 = -4 x2 = -2 y2 = -8

Substitution

m = (-8 + 4) / (-2 + 3)

Simplification

m = -4/1

Result

m = -4

2) (-3, 8) and (3, 8)

m = (8 - 8) / (3 + 3)

m = 0/6

m = 0 Slope is Zero

3) (5 , 1) and (9, -7)

m = (-7 - 1) / (9 - 5)

m = -8 / 4

m = -2
