$7.77

1) Gathering the data

23 employees

Number of employees | Hourly Wage

8 $ 7.5

6 $7.75

9 $9.75

2) Since we have employees with different hourly wages, then we have to calculate the mean of those 23 workers taking that into account. In other words, we have to use the weighted arithmetic mean for that:

\begin{gathered} x=((8*7.5)+(6*7.75)+(9*9.75))/((7.5+7.75+9.75)) \\ x=(60+46.5+87.75)/(25) \\ x=(194.25)/(25) \\ x=7.77 \end{gathered}

3) So the mean of the hourly wages for those 23 employees is $7.77
