Area of a Kite

Given a kite of diagonals of lengths x and y, the area can be calculated with the formula:

A=(x\cdot y)/(2)

The longer diagonal has a length of x = p - 4 + p = 2p - 4

Since p = 12 in, then x = 2*12 - 4 = 20 in

The shorter diagonal measures y = 2m. We are given m=6, thus y = 12 in

The area of the kite is:

A=(20in\cdot12in)/(2)=120in^2

Answer: 120 sq in
