Solution

Given


\begin{gathered} 4x+8y=16 \\ at\text{ }x-intercept,y=0 \\ 4x+8(0)=16 \\ 4x=16 \\ x=(16)/(4) \\ x=4 \end{gathered}

To find y - intercept as shown below


\begin{gathered} 4x+8y=16 \\ at\text{ }y-intercept,x=0 \\ 4(0)+8y=16 \\ 8y=16 \\ y=(16)/(8) \\ y=2 \end{gathered}

We can also write the intercepts in co-ordinate form as shown below

For x-intercept : ( 4,0 )

For y -intercept ; ( 0, 2 )
