He missed 6 for every 21 he attempted.

Step 1. Divide 21 by 6 to find how many he attempts for every goal he misses:

(21)/(6)=3.5

He attempts 3.5 for every goal he misses.

Step 2. Since he missed 14, we multiply 14 by 3.5 to find how many he attempted:

14*3.5=49

Answer: 49
