Parallel lines have equal slopes.

Slope intercept form:

y=mx+b

Where:

m= slope

b= y-intercept

For

y=-5x+4

m= -5

So, the slope of the new line so far :

y= -5x+b

Replace (x,y) by the point given (1,2)

2 = -5(1)+b
