The slope, m, of the line that passes through the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is calculated as follows:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Substituting with points (3,2) and (-5,4), we get:

m=(4-2)/(-5-3)=(2)/(-8)=-(1)/(4)

The slope is -1/4
