The slope between two points is given as:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

plugging the values we have and solving for f we have:

\begin{gathered} 1=(4-6)/(2-f) \\ 1(2-f)=4-6 \\ 2-f=-2 \\ f=2+2 \\ f=4 \end{gathered}

therefore f=4
