Observation; the product of the two questions are the same.

the product of 10 and 8 can be calculated by writing one zero to right of 8, so that 8 moves from units to tens and becomes 80.

Also the product of 5 and 16 can be calculated by dividing 16 by 2 and then multiply the result by 10.


\begin{gathered} 16*5 \\ =16*(10)/(2) \\ =(16)/(2)*10 \\ =8*10 \\ =80 \end{gathered}
