solve for x

$\begin{gathered} (1)/(3)(x-10)=-4 \\ 3*(1)/(3)(x-10)=3*(-4) \\ x-10=-12 \\ x-10+10=-12+10 \\ x=-2 \end{gathered}$

answer: x = - 2
