in parallelogram ABCD, AC= 3x-17 and AO= 5 Find x.

we know that

In a parallelogram opposite sides are congruent and the diagonals bisect each other

In this problem

I will assume that AC is a diagonal of the parallelogram and O is the intersection both diagonals

that means

AO=AC/2

substitute the given values

5=(3x-17)/2

solve for x

10=3x-17

3x=10+17

3x=27

x=9
