it says "Plot the image of point A under a dilation about the origin (0,0) with a scale factor of 1/4" I tried watching the videos but it's so confusing

To determine a dilation centered at the origin (0,0) by a determined scale factor k, you have to multiply both coordinates of the original point by the scale factor.

For example por a determined point P with coordinates (x, y) the dilation centered at the origin is:

Original point → Dilated point

P(x, y) → P'(x*k, y*k)

For example:

The point Q has coordinates (8, 9)

You have to dilate it by scale factor k= 1/4

To calculate the dilation, multiply both coordinates by the scale factor:

Q(8,9)\to Q^(\prime)(8\cdot(1)/(4),9\cdot(1)/(4))=Q^(\prime)(2,2.25)

The result of dilating point Q by sclae factor 1/4 is Q'(2,2.25)
