Use the distributive property to evaluate the following expression:9 x (4 + 9). Show your work in your answer.I don't understand how distributive property works. Please help :)

9*(4+9)

By distributive property


a(b+c)=ab+bc

Hence, to solve the given expression multiply the terms in the bracket by 9

This implies


9*(4+9)=9*4+9*9

Simplify further to get


\begin{gathered} 9*(4+9)=9*4+9*9 \\ 9*(4+9)=36+81 \\ 9*(4+9)=117 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the answer is 117
