what is the y intercept of the line that has a slope of -1/2 and passes through the point (2,3)

step 1

Find the equation of the line in slope intercept form

y=mx+b

we have

m=-1/2

point (2,3)

substitute

3=(-1/2)(2)+b

solve for b

3=-1+b

b=4

so

y=(-1/2)x+4

the y-intercept is the point (0,4)
