A coin has 2 sides which are heads and tails so for one coin toss there are 2 outcomes.

By the formula for the sample space, the total number of outcomes is given by:


n(S)=n^r

Where n is the number of outcomes for single experiment and r is the number of times the experiment was repeated.

In this case n=2 and r=10 so it follows:


n(S)=2^(10)=1024

Hence the total number of outcomes is 1024

Option D is correct.
