You have the next equation:

-8-(-10)=2

When you subtract a negative number, it leads you to an addition. In other words, a minus sign followed by a negative sign, turns the two signs into a plus sign:

-(-10)\text{ becomes +10}

Then, the equation will become into:

-8+10=2
