SOLUTION:

Case: Perimeter of composite shapes.

The Perimeter of any shape is the sum of all the sides of the shape

Given: An composite shapes of rectangles. Perimeter of 80.5ft and sides with other lengths.

Required: To find the value of the missing side

Method:

Let the missing side be x

Perimeter = sum of all the sides

80.5ft = 8.3 ft+ 6.7 ft+6.7 ft+6.7 ft+6.7 ft+2.5 ft+2.5 ft+6.7 ft+6.7 ft+10.1 ft+10.1 ft+ x

80.5 = 73.7 + x

x= 80.5 - 73.7

x= 6.8

Final answer:

The missing side is 6.8 ft long
