1) Since we've been given the slope m= 5 and one point (-8,3) let's plug them into the point-slope, to get the equation of the line

\begin{gathered} y-y_0=m(x-x_0) \\ y-3=5(x-(-8) \\ y-3=5(x+8) \\ y-3=5x\text{ +40} \end{gathered}

2) So, the equation of the line is in the point-slope form:

y-3=5x+40
