The slope of the line that passes through the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is computed as follows:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

From the graph, f(x) passes through the points (0, 4) and (2, 1), then its slope is:

m=(1-4)/(2-0)=-(3)/(2)
