40 + 9x ≥ 112.

9x ≥ 72.

write the first equation shown above first, then subtract 40 from 40 and 40 from 112. when subtracting 40 from 40, do not use 0 later in the equation! 112 - 40 = 72. then write the second equation. divide 9x by 9 and divide 72 by 9. again, do not use 0 later on in the equation!!! 72 divided by 9 = 8.
