The diagrams below show a gas being compressed. Describe why decreasing the volume makes the pressure increase

Inside a container with a gas we have lots of particles moving freely, colliding with the container and other particles, but, if we decrease that volume, we will have less free space for the particles to move, therefore, these particles will start to hit the container wall more frequently, hence increasing the pressure. More collisions in the container = more pressure

Less volume = less free space to move around for the particles

Less free space = more collisions.
