Multiplication By Powers of 10
One of the factors is a power of 10, that is, the number 1 followed by a number of zeros.
To multiply a decimal number by such a quantity, we just move the decimal point as many times to the right as zeros are found.
The product 3.23 x 1000 is a good example. We have 3 zeros, so we move the point by 3 spaces and get 3230
Please note we had to add a final zero to the result because we had only 2 decimals and we needed to move the point by 3 positions.
Answer: 3230
