Subtract 4 from both sides. This is a balanced move that keeps the equations 'equivalent and could lead to the correct answer. However, it is not an efficient move because it doesn't result in fewer terms. Starting with the original equation, choose a balanced move that would be better than subtracting 4 from both sides. Then finish solving the equation. Type your answer and explain what you chose as your first step. Submit and Explain

8 - 10x = 7 + 5x

The first step will be to subtract 5x from both-side of the equation

That is;

8 - 15x = 7

Then, subtract 8 from both-side of the equation

-15x = -1

divide both-side of the equation by -15

x=(1)/(15)
