Given:

a.) Daryl was prescribed 14 antibiotic tablets for an infection.

b.) The directions on the prescription bottle say to take one tablet a day for 14 days.

c.) There are 8 tablets left in the bottle.

For us to be able to determine what fraction of the prescription has Daryl taken, we will be using the following formula:

\text{ Fraction taken = }\frac{\text{ Total number of tablets - No. of tablets remaining}}{\text{ Total number of tablets}}

We get,

\text{ = }\frac{14\text{ - 8}}{14}\text{ = }(6)/(14)
\text{ Fraction taken = }(3)/(7)

Therefore, Daryl has already taken 3/7 of the prescription.
