The equation for total charge to his customer for 2 hours is,

39=2h+f

For 4 hours,

63=f+4h

Simplify the equation to obtain the value of h.

\begin{gathered} 2h+f-(f+4h)=39-63 \\ -2h=-24 \\ h=12 \end{gathered}

Substitute 12 for h in the equation 2h + f =39 to obtain the value of f.

\begin{gathered} 2\cdot12+f=39 \\ f=39-24 \\ =15 \end{gathered}

So equation to determine his customers total charge is,

C=15+12h
