2/3 x 2 1/4

First, we have to convert the mixed number into an improper fraction.

-2 1/4 = -(2x4+1)/4= -9/4

Now, back in the multiplication:

2/3 x -9/4 = -(2x9)/(3x4)= -18/12 = -3/2
