Aunt Maggie's car broke down on Interstate 10. Sam's Towing charges $57 to come tow her car and then $2 for every mile they tow the car. Regina's Towing charges $45 to come out and $2.50 per mile to tow the car. Which equation below represents the total amount of money Aunt Maggie would have to pay to use Regina's Towing? y = 45x + 2.50 y= 2x + 57 y= 2.50x + 45 D. y=57x + 2

Regina's Towing:

Fixed Charge = $45

Cost per mile = $2.50

Number of miles = x

Total cost = y

Total cost (y) must be equal to the sum of the fixed cost (45) and the product of the number of miles (x) and the cost per mile (2.50)

Mathematically speaking:

y= 45+2.50x
