x-intercept 1) To calculate the x-intercept of the linear function. Simply rewrite it as an equation.

So

y = 1/3x -12

0 = 1/3x -12

-1/3x=-12 x -3

x=36

2) The x intercept has, y =0 as we did algebraically. So the answer is

D(36,0)
