Two rival pizza companies offer differently shaped pizza. Pizza A is a circular shaped pizza with a radius of 10 inches, and Pizza B is rectangular measuring 20 in. by 17 in. If Pizza B costs twice as much as Pizza A and has the same amount of toppings, which pizza is a better deal? *Pizza APizza B

We consider a better deal in this case the pizza that has the largest area.

We can calculate the area of Pizza A, which is a circle of radius r=10 in., as:

A_a=\pi r^2=\pi\cdot10^2=100\pi\approx100\cdot3.14=314in^2

Now, we can calculate the area of Pizza B, which is a rectangle of 20 x 17 inches, as:

A_b=l\cdot w=20\cdot17=340in^2

Answer: Pizza B.

As Pizza B has a largest area than Pizza A, it is a better deal.
