options B and D

Here, we want to select the ratios that are equivalent options

We firstly need to get the ratio in the original question

Mathematically, that would be dividing the distance by the number of hours

We have this as;

\frac{6\text{ miles}}{2\text{ hours }}\text{ 3 miles per hour}

So, whatever selection we will be having will be the same as 3 miles per hour after dividing

Let us take the options one after the other

a) 18 miles in 2 hours

The ratio here is 18 miles/2 hours = 9 miles per hour

This is a wrong option

b) 15 miles in 5 hours

The ratio here will be 15 miles / 5 hours = 3 miles per hour

This is correct

c) 18 miles in 7 hours

The ratio here will be 18 miles / 7 hours = 2.57 miles per hour

This is also wrong

d) 9 miles in 3 hours

The ratio here will be 9 miles / 3 hours = 3 miles per hour

From our calculations, we can see that ONLY options B and D are correct
