The leading term is the term with the highest power, and its coefficient is called the leading coefficient.

x = 2 and x =1,

x - 2 = 0 or x - 1 = 0

( x -2 ) ( x - 1 ) = 0,

x^ 2 - x - 2x + 2 = 0

x ^ 2 - 3x + 2 = 0

Multiply through by 4 ,

4 ( x ^ 2 - 3x + 2 = 0 )

= 4 x^2 - 12 x + 8 = 0.
