Given Data:

The point is, (x, y) = ( -8, -5)

The slope is, m = -3/4

The general line equation is,

y=mx+b

Here, b is the y intercept.

To find b let us substitute, -8 for x, -5 for y and -3/4 for m. Therefore we have,

\begin{gathered} -5=-(3)/(4)*(-8)+b \\ -5=6+b \\ b=-11 \end{gathered}

Thus, the y intercept is -11 and therefore the equation is,

y=-(3)/(4)x-11
