y+2=(2)/(3)\cdot(x-9)

Solving for y.

0. Subtracting 2 from both sides of the equation.

y+2-2=(2)/(3)\cdot(x-9)-2
y=(2)/(3)\cdot(x-9)-2

2. Multiplying the parenthesis:

y=(2)/(3)x-6-2
y=(2)/(3)x-8

Based on the form:

y=mx+b

we can get the slope (m) and the y-intercept (b), which in our case is 2/3 and -8, respectively. Finally, to get the x-intercept, we have to make y = 0:

0=(2)/(3)\cdot x-8

Isolating for x:

(2)/(3)x=8
x=(8\cdot3)/(2)=(24)/(2)=12

Answer:

• Slope: 2/3

,

• x-intercept: (12, 0)

,

• y-intercept: (0, -8)
