Find the difference between the price of each hat and the cost to make it to find the profit per hat:


12.50-4.90=7.60

Now, let h be the number of hats sold by Carla, we have that:


7.60h=1216

Solve for h:


\begin{gathered} h=(1216)/(7.60) \\ h=160 \end{gathered}

She needs to sell 160 hats.
