1. The average rate of change between 1997 and 1999 is:

m=(740-635)/(1999-1997)=(105)/(2)=52.5

the average rate of change is 52.5 job/year

2. In this case, you have:

m=(805-740)/(2001-1999)=(65)/(2)=32.5

the average rate of change is 32.5 job/year
