Given: The equation of line y = 3x - 8.

Required: Ordered pair which is not a sloution of the equation.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ordered pair that are a solution of the equation will satisfy the equation, while others which are not a soution does not satisfy the equation.

So checking one by one.

(a) (8 , 16) Putting this in equation

\begin{gathered} 16=3(8)-8 \\ 16=24-8 \\ 16=16 \end{gathered}

which is true. Hence (8,16) is a solution.

(b) Putting (3,4) in equation

\begin{gathered} 4=3(3)-8 \\ 4=9-1 \\ 4=8 \end{gathered}

which is false, Hence (3,4) is not a solution.

(c) Putting (-6,-26) in the equation

\begin{gathered} -26=3(-6)-8 \\ -26=-18-8 \\ -26=-26 \end{gathered}

which is true. Hence, (-6,-26) is solution.

(d) Putting (-10,-38) in the equation
