A large concert venue is to be constructed in the shape of a triangle. The east and west sides will be the same length, and the back will be 3/2 times that length. If the contractor determines that 1,575 feet of fence is necessary to enclose the perimeter of the venue to keep out fans with no ticket, what are the dimensions?

Perimeter = sum of all sides = 1,575 ft

east side = west side = x

1,575 = 2x + 3/2x

Solve for x_

1,575= 7/2 x

1,575 / (7/2) = x

x = 450 ft

back = 450 x 3/2 = 675 ft

Dimensions:

West side = 450ft

East side = 450 ft

Back side = 675 ft
