Problem

5(3x – 4) = 2(3x + 1)

Solution

If we distribute the terms in the equation we got:

15x - 20= 6x +2

We can subtract 6x in both sides of the equation and we got:

9x -20=2

Now we can add 20 in both sides and we got:

9x=22

Finally we can divide both sides of the equation by 9 and we got;

x= 22/9
