We have that the diameter of the base of the cone measures 8 ft, then the radius is r=4. Now we can find the volume using the general formula:

\begin{gathered} V=\pi\cdot r^2\cdot(h)/(3) \\ \pi=3.1416 \\ r=4 \\ h=9 \\ \Rightarrow V=(3.1416)(4)^2((9)/(3))=(3.1416)(16)(3)=48\cdot(3.1416)=150.8 \\ V=150.8ft^3 \end{gathered}

therefore, the volume of the cone is v=150.8ft³
