Solve the system of equations:

x = 5y - 13

x = -3y + 19

Since the variable x is isolated in both equations, we use the equal values method:

5y - 13 = -3y + 19

Adding 3y

5y +3y - 13 = 19

Adding 13:

5y +3y = 13 + 19

Operating:

8y = 32

Dividing by 8:

y = 32/8

y = 4

Substituting into any of the equations:

x = 5(4) - 13

x = 20 - 13

x = 7

Solution: x=7, y=4
